A-Rod's two homers and four RBIs came in an losing effort. But he was overshadowed by the collapse of Yankee's closer Mariano Rivera. He has played 7 games and has a 8.44 ERA. To go with that he has two blown saves including last nights. Some proclaim he is the greatest closer of all time. I do agree, but he is just struggling now. Rivera just needs a few games to build back that confidence. I hope he does not go into "Brad Lidge mode". Lidge got benched by the Houston Astros. " The Sandman" {rivera} will be back to All- Star form in a few games.

Duke's Coaching Blues
Duke's new women's basketball coach is Joanne McCallie. She was the former coach of Michigan State. She coached at Michigan State for seven years. Duke's former coach Gail Goestenkors took the coaching job at Texas. She has taken 11 teams to the big dance. This 45 year-old coach is challanged with keeping the Duke program up.This will not be such a hard task. She was the 2005 NCAA Women's Coach of the Year. Coach McCallie said this is her dream job. She was highly recruited by Duke when she was in high school. But her mother persuaded her to go to Northwestern. She just signed a $100,000 contract at Michigan State. Duke was one of the few teams that could pay her more than that. We will have to see how coach McCallie and the Duke women's basketball team does.
The Big Question
Would you take Kevin Durant or Greg Odgen? ODgen is a powerful postplayer, but Durant is a swift wingman. Durant reminds me of a tall more defensive Tracy Mcgrady. Odgen reminds me of a young Shaq. I myself would rather have Odgen. He can be a factor on any team. But Durant needs the ball to excel. Don't get me wrong Durant is an excellent defender, but Odgen is one of the best. Odgen can get offense but he already has the hard part, defense. But either way you are getting an excellent player. My final decision:Greg Odgen
NBA Playoffs
The NBA Playoffs have started today. The Heat just lost to the Bulls. A stellar preformance was given by Loul Deng. Shaq fouled out late in the fourth quarter. D- Wade took over but it was not enough. The Bulls had a gameplan and stuck with it. Their main objective was to double Shaq and get him in foul trouble. Game two will be in Chicago on Tuesday night. This will be the best series, I predict.
